What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Southport, North Carolina for the first time?

Like Captain Steele said, “You couldn’t order better weather”!! Water was so smooth, not a cloud in the sky and I swear Captain Steele has a natural internal GPS for finding great fish and adventure naturally!!!

It’s called fishing for a reason and not catching. You have to be willing to mix things up to improve your chances of success. Just go in with an open mind and not expecting to bring in a huge haul. Make memories with those that you take on your fishing trip. That will be what you treasure the most.

We were well aware our trip was a few weeks early in the season for larger fish, but it was the only week we had to go. Fishing was just so so, but Capt. Josh did a good job of getting us on some active spots.. The high light was an overall great time.... Would i do it again ? YOU BET.......!!!!!

Southport is a must stop for all fishermen. The charter fleet is the best in the business. Don't miss out.

Perfect time for shark fishing! If you’re looking for some offshore bigger game than the season is best towards August/September!

Do your research on what you want to catch. It will be hit or miss with black or red drum in the summer months.

The weather and the fishing are temperamental - we have been booking for three summers straight and finally got to go!

Anyone with experience can land just about every catch if used to fishing from a boat. 2/3 people in my party have never fished before and still caught huge baddies.

Water seems to be so colgado this days and many species are not on yet. It seems after May there is mor variety.

It was high tide and a full moon, so we didn't have the best of luck, but we still had a ton of bites and caught some great fish.

Maybe because of the impending storm, fish weren't biting. Captain did his best to find fish.

Go early as it gets hot late morning. There are so many opportunities to catch a variety of fish.

Captain Ryan was based out of Southport, but we were actually leaving out of Bald Head Island.

We had an exceptionally hot week but as BHI owners I can say that heat index over 100 is uncommon.
