What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Oceanside, California for the first time?

We had an absolutely fantastic time. If you go with Captain Chuck White, you will have a great time. He has a great personality and him and his deck hand Andy are very friendly and easy to get along with.

Bring warm clothes and shoes you dont care about. Cooler for your white fish you can catch and keep!

From what we heard, September is slowing down. We got lucky and caught a couple halibut. If you’re looking for dorado (mahi mahi), do that in July or August.

Inshore species on the 3hr trip include rock bass, calico bass, sculpin, sheepshead, mackerel, barracuda, etc.

Listen to the crew they have a wealth of knowledge. I recently got into fishing and the crew taught me so much. Made the experience even better and now I’m ready to go after even bigger fish.

The great thing about fishing in the ocean is you never know what your going to get. Expected Dorado ended up with 25+Lb Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna.

Dress for any weather, it's the ocean, weather changes quick. Don't expect to catch exactly what you want, but expect to have some fun!

We were told May is the start of fishing season in San Diego. We had fun but it might be better fishing in the next few months…

Plenty of rockfish and calico bass. Likely will always catch those but tuna his hit or miss

Check water temps and understand that may affect the type of fish you are going after.
