So far January has been all about groupers inshore and big yellowfin tunas and dorados offshore. Yesterday´s all day offshore tour was spectecular with 2 of 2 on blue Marlin, 4 of 6 on dorado and 2 of 2 on yellowfin tuna. ...can´t wait for more!

We had a fun day of fishing with Greg and Ann Sherlock from Wisconsin. It was a sunny day with calm and clear waters and just about 2 to 3 miles off shore we caught a couple of Yellowfin tunas and Pompano. We used Blackfin tuna for bait. The line we were using was 80 pound braided with a 20-pound flourocarbon leader, so the fish cannot see the line.

Catch of the day: Rooster 35 to 40 lbs, Yellowfin was about 10 lbs. We have been staying close to shore, about 3 miles. Mostly calm winds and flat ocean for the month of January.

We went out fishing at 7 am in the morning. The water was a little choppy with a bit of swell. The weather stayed in between cloudy and sunny. First we caught tunas for bait and then we caught some Mackerel . The girls ate some Sashimi, and then we hit to our sweet spot where we caught a nice Amberjack.

Today we caught a very nice Snapper and a couple of Groupers. Water was calm and flat with blue sky at first and later on some clouds came by. Taylor and his dad had a good time offshoring. We stayed out for a full day.

It's fishing season start off here in Costa Rica and also for us. We took out 6 people on a inshore half day fishing tour, starting at 7:30 in the morning. The weather was cloudy all day as we are still in rainy season but the water was nice and calm here in Samara Beach, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We caught a 25 lbs Broomtail Grouper and a couple of Tunas.
