Yes, captain and deck hand were experienced and they knew where to go on the bay and how to fish for what we were interested in catching. You do not need to be an experienced fisherman to enjoy a trip in Banderas Bay.

Near shore (within 10 miles) and plenty of species biting with a good crew rigging the lines. When you troll near the rocky outcrops youโll catch fish. So much fun especially for younger kids.

Fishing Punta Mita
We only fished a half day and went out about 8 miles so we did not see any billfish but were very pleased with the day. As an added bonus we saw lots of humpback whales!
