Yes, captain and deck hand were experienced and they knew where to go on the bay and how to fish for what we were interested in catching. You do not need to be an experienced fisherman to enjoy a trip in Banderas Bay.

1/2 day with young kids is more than enough time, fish or no fish, the surroundings are beautiful. Bring your own snacks/food if needed.

Not Mahi Mahi season so we were left to chase smaller fish but were very happy with the results. You’d need at least an 8-10 hour tour if you want sailfish or marlin.

Take the chance, book the 10 hr and spend the day to chase quality fish. The run to and from the fishing grounds may be upwards of 2hrs each way so the 10hr trip still gives you plenty of time
to fish.

Enjoy the experience. It’s a special place. We’ve seen whales, sea turtles and dolphins. You never know what the conditions will be. It could be very good fishing or not. But it’s always a good trip.

Expect to get a little wet, the rain will come in, but then disappear. Bay seems really healthy with tons of fish. We came across a few boils though where we couldn’t get a bit, but probably 7/10 we got bites.

Bring your catch to Eddies place, they did a fantastic job of cooking the fish that we caught and it was a short water taxi ride from the marina.

This is an affordable charter for the price. There are much more expensive boats you can charter but this one will do the same as the expensive ones probably the only difference would be in the amenities the boat provides.
