Today was a fantastic day out on the water. The weather couldn’t have been better—calm, sunny, and perfect for chasing silver salmon. Right away, we started seeing silver salmon biting, and we were happy to see so many smiles as folks reeled in strong, healthy fish. Fresh water from melting glaciers made the river clear and cool. Birds like swans and eagles watched from the trees along the banks. The salmon were just starting to come up the river from the sea. Captain Doug’s boat was ready before sunrise. The group hoped for a good day, and it wasn’t long before the first salmon was on the line. Silver salmon, known for their strong fight, were biting well. Everyone worked together, cheered each other on, and enjoyed the excitement of catching salmon. By the end of the day, there were smiles all around and great stories to share. It was a perfect start to August on the Knik River.
