Trip Summary
Excellent fishing this week in the Aransas Pass, Ingleside and Port Aransas, area! My anglers and I are catching redfish, black drum, sheepshead and speckled trout using both live and dead shrimp. A few oversized fish were released as well. We're finding success with Carolina rigs and 1/4 ounce jig heads fishing on the bottom. Sheepshead have been making there way in with numbers getting better each week, fishing with freeline shrimp and a 1/0 J hook. The key has been targeting channels with mud bottoms where fish are holding with these cooler water temps near 50 degrees. These deeper channels and drop offs provide refuge and feeding opportunities as winter conditions have settled in. These rigging methods are producing consistent results on a moving tide, with the Carolina rig excelling for black drum and larger redfish, while the jig heads are getting solid strikes from everything including speckled trout. Book your trip with Clean Fun Fishing and get in on the action!
