Our regular guest Mr Peter brought his friend to experience deep sea trolling and what an experience it turned out to be. A blue marlin, some skipjacks and a yellowfin tuna on the first trip.Patience paid off as we were trolling with live bait since 8:00 a.m and only got the strike around12:00. It was a fierce fight but the angler did very well on his first ever big saltwater fish.

After some northerly wind and choppy seas it was starting to get better.We caught a skipjack early during the trip and started live baiting but the bait quickly got weak and the schools around us were dissipating.We put the lures out and headed gor the deeper waters were we caught another skipjack. Just after leaving the school we got a strike and it was game on. Our customer who had been looking to catch his first marlin in different countries finally got it after a 25 minutes fight.While the crew were resetting the lures 2 marlins showed up behind the lures and we got a hookup on the short corner lure.It was an estimated 600 lbs blue that was very aggressive and took a lot of line on the 80lbs reel. Our customer got on the fighting chair but unfortunately the line broke after the marlin started doing some acrobatic jumps far away from the boat.We came back with a blue marlin and 2 skipjacks.

On that morning with no activity along the dropoff we decided to try our luck a bit further south. Sea was good and we spotted a few birds and caught a wahoo and shortly after we had 2 yellowfin tuna on the lines.During the fight there was a heavy rain and wind picked ip and the sea got rough and tough.After boating the two 80lbs tunas we headed downwind and did not find much.About an hour before heading back we had a strike on the long rigger lure and saw that huge black marlin taking to the air.The fish did not take too much line but was very stubborn and did not want to move from where it was.Our regular customer Mr Chris did an excellent job on the chair but a fish that size wears you out and time was going by.After trying trick after trick the fish was finally starting to get uncomfortable and came up and made some beautiful jumps just to show its size and power. Some time later ,as we were getting ready with the gaffs and the fish was just 2 meters away from the boat with leader in hand, the leader broke due to the many hours chafing with the bill. Some could say a nice release.We could just watch the beautiful fish slowly swim away...see you another day
