MIAMI FISHING REPORT – Catch & Release
Februari 16, 2026 Key Biscayne 1 photo

Trip Summary

Partly sunny skies, light east breeze, steady current pushing just enough to keep the baits moving right in the strike zone. Water clean with good visibility. We set up on known shark grounds, heavy tackle out, fresh cut bait deployed, rods staggered at different depths. Drags set. Clickers on. Waiting for that freight train run. Sharks had other plans today. No hookups on the target species, but that’s fishing, not catching. Tides were moving, bait was presented right, scent trail was flowing. Sometimes the big ones cruise through, sometimes they ghost you. Today they stayed ghost. To keep rods bending, we worked the bottom structure and had action from: • Bonito • Lane Snapper • French Grunt • Rock Hind • Slippery Dick Wrasse All catch and release. Healthy fish sent back down strong. Some days you battle giants. Some days you scout for the rematch. The ocean always keeps you humble, and that’s part of the addiction. We’ll be back on the hunt. ??
