The lake is still sitting about 9.5 ft low and around 58–60degree water temps depending on the area. The majority of fish in my mind are offshore due to the lack of grass and cover up shallow with the lower than normal water. There is a pile of fish on bait roaming around but it has been a bit more difficult for me to find a quality bite with the fish on bait balls. They will bite about anything from a jerk bait, minnow or Alabama-rig just depending on how they are setup in the water column at the time of your cast. You can also go idle creek swings and points and find quite a few groups of fish doing so if you can target the right kinds of areas that have a bunch of bait. If there's nothing going on in the area and you don't see bait around there's probably a good chance there aren't many fish around right now. As for these fish, you can catch them many different ways from a tail spinner wing-ding type bait to a fluke on a Carolina rig or any of your other minnow imitating baits. Theres also some fish on piles still so don't rule that out. As the water cools off a bit more Id predict that the live scope on bait bite will get better. They do seem a lot smarter than in previous winters but that's the evolution of fish. Hope this helps.

With the water still around 7ft below pool, Sam Rayburn is still fishing especially good for this time of year. For bass, theres a ton of floating fish on bait for a guy who wants to catch them using livescope or comemout with us and learn how to be more efficient using it. Basically you can just drop ths trolling motor anywhere theres bait and start finding targets everywhere you pan. Ive also found quite a few schools sitting on the top of or the side of ledges depending on the weather. Most of them have been in the 9-15ft range on main lake sturcture which could be an underwater point, creek channel or the edge of a raodbed. Youve got to use your electronics and fish where the fish and bait are not where you think they should be. You cant catch ghosts. For the fish in the bottom we have been rotating through a big plug, Carolina rig and a dropshot. As far as crappie, the but has gotten a lot better the oast two weeks as far as size. There are some really nice crappie on the piles at the moment in about 18-25ft. Sunday was an exceptional day for big crappie and they but really good. It seems like the lower water temps have really helped with the size. I hope this helps anyone looking for some info and would love the opportunity to show you in person.

As of today the lake is finally still going down slowly and is at a 6.75 feet high. The fishing has still been good offshore. We have been focusing on points from 8-25 ft of water. Every point is different, but we are catching the majority of them on dropshots, carolina rigs with a 6th sense hogwalla and a big crainkbait. When I see a group of fish we will also scope them with a big spoon or wing ding type bait at least to identify that they are bass or not. Personally, I have not been up in the bushes really but there's still some fish up there for sure. The quality bites seem to be offshore for our trips anyways and my topwater bites have seemed to be fading lately. I do think if you land on the right spot you can get right with a big walking bait in a hurry. There's plenty of small fish schooling in certain places as well. The fishing should continue to get better as the water slowly falls it will bring them out to where they are supposed to be this time of year.
