Trip Summary

We had a great day out on the water with Jake Conner and the crew for our 5 Hour (AM) Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. March is a prime time for a variety of fishing techniques here in Texas, so I knew we were in for an exciting day on the water. The conditions were perfect—clear skies, calm waters, and ideal temperatures. We met up at the South Padre Island, TX launch ramp early at 7:00 AM and got the group set up. We started our day with some trout fishing, working the deeper channels and ledges with jigging techniques. The light tackle action was non-stop, with the group hooking into some feisty fish and putting their skills to the test. We switched it up throughout the day, mixing in some drift fishing and even throwing some topwater lures to target aggressive surface-dwelling predators. Though we didn't manage to land any big prize catches, we still had a blast out on the water, enjoying the beautiful scenery and great company. The variety of techniques we used throughout the day kept things interesting and engaging for the whole crew. It was awesome to see everyone work together, share tips, and collaborate to put fish in the boat. Whether it was the thrill of the bite, the camaraderie amongst the group, or just the sheer joy of being out on the water, this trip had it all. These are the kinds of days that remind me why I love being a fishing guide—seeing the excitement on anglers' faces, helping them improve their skills, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. South Padre Morning Bay Trip: Speckled T

Megan and family headed out for our fall morning trip with partly cloudy skies and the possibility of storms rolling in later. The early morning conditions looked promising as we launched from South Padre Island for our half-day bay fishing adventure with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. We focused on drift fishing and bottom fishing techniques, with some trolling mixed in to cover more water. They managed to land a solid speckled trout and a 25” drum during our session. South Padre Island's bay system works well for these techniques because of the varied structure and current patterns that hold fish consistently. We wrapped up the morning run with good action and plenty of time before any weather moved in. If you're looking to get on the water around South Padre Island, our 1/2 Day Morning Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures offers the perfect opportunity to target speckled trout and other bay species. We use proven techniques like drift fishing, bottom fishing, and trolling to maximize your chances of success in these productive waters. The morning trips work especially well during fall months when the fishing picks up and weather patterns are more predictable. Whether you're new to bay fishing or an experienced angler, we'll put you on fish using the methods that work best for South Padre Island's unique bay system. Book your trip with us and experience why our morning bay fishing adventures consistently produce results in these waters.
