Trip Summary

We had a fantastic day out on the water with Sergio Betancourt and the crew, exploring the best fishing spots around Rio Hondo, TX. It was a beautiful day, with partly cloudy skies and ideal conditions for a productive fishing adventure. As we headed out, I knew we were in for a treat – March is a prime time for targeting Spotted Seatrout and Redfish in these waters. The fish are actively feeding, and the mild weather makes for comfortable time on the boat. We started the day with some deep sea fishing, working a variety of lures and live bait to entice the big ones. It didn't take long before we started hooking into some nice Spotted Seatrout, their shimmering sides flashing as they put up a great fight. The action just kept getting better as we shifted to some light tackle jigging and drift fishing. The Redfish were really fired up, eagerly smashing our offerings and giving us some incredible runs. Sergio and the group were all smiles, reeling in fish after fish and filling our cooler with some quality keepers. Between the steady bites and the beautiful scenery, it was the perfect day to be out on the water. Winter Bay Action: Black Drum & Trout De
Winter Bay Action: Black Drum & Trout De
Januari 17, 2026
Had a crew of four join us for a winter morning trip starting in the early hours. Cloudy skies hung over us throughout the day with rain coming down, but that didn't stop us from getting out on the water. The conditions were what you'd expect for January - a bit rough but nothing we couldn't handle with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. We focused on drift fishing and bottom fishing techniques, with some trolling mixed in to cover more water. The crew managed to land some solid Black Drum and Speckled Trout during our half-day outing. These techniques work well in these waters because they let you target different depths and structures where the fish are holding. We wrapped up the trip with good catches and everyone had a great time despite the weather.
