Trip Summary

It was a beautiful morning to be out on the water near South Padre Island, TX, as we kicked off our 3 Hour (AM) Quick Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. The weather was clearing up nicely after some earlier clouds, setting the stage for a great day of fishing. As a local guide, I know May is a prime time to target Spotted Sea Trout and Redfish in these waters, with the warming temperatures bringing them closer to the surface. We started off using a mix of techniques - jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing - to see what the fish were keyed in on. It didn't take long before Thomas' rod doubled over, and he was into a nice oversized Spotted Sea Trout. That fish put up a great fight, peeling line and making some strong runs, but Thomas kept his cool and landed it perfectly. From there, the action stayed steady, with the four of them boating a nice mix of Spotted Sea Troutand Redfish. The fish were really aggressive and feeding hard, smashing our baits and coast to coast lures as soon as they hit the water. The best part was just being out on the water, taking in the South Padre scenery and enjoying the company. Even when we weren't hooked up, it was a pleasure to just soak up the sun and listen to the waves. That's what makes these trips so special - not just the fish you catch, but the overall experience of getting to spend quality time out on the water. We laughed, swapped stories, and genuinely just had a great time together. If you're looking to get in on some exciting fishing action near South Padre Island, I'd highly recommend booking a 3 Hour (AM) Quick Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. Whether you're an experienced angler after Spotted Weakfish or just want to enjoy a fun, relaxing morning on the water, we'll make sure you have an unforgettable time. South Padre Morning Bay Trip: Speckled T

Megan and family headed out for our fall morning trip with partly cloudy skies and the possibility of storms rolling in later. The early morning conditions looked promising as we launched from South Padre Island for our half-day bay fishing adventure with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. We focused on drift fishing and bottom fishing techniques, with some trolling mixed in to cover more water. They managed to land a solid speckled trout and a 25” drum during our session. South Padre Island's bay system works well for these techniques because of the varied structure and current patterns that hold fish consistently. We wrapped up the morning run with good action and plenty of time before any weather moved in. If you're looking to get on the water around South Padre Island, our 1/2 Day Morning Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures offers the perfect opportunity to target speckled trout and other bay species.
