we had a great time fishing and caught multiple fish that we have not had the chance to catch in the past. They were very accommodating and picked us up at the beach of our hotel. we were with a group that all hired different boats and we caught the most fish especially rooster fish which is what we were most excited to catch. The fish we could keep was cleaned and ready to take to our hotel to be cooked. I woukd absolutely recommend this trip.

We had an incredible half-day fishing trip with Luis and his wife Shirley aboard the El Gato III! From start to finish, they were extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, making the whole experience unforgettable. The boat was spotless and well-organized, and they made sure we were comfortable the entire time with plenty of cold beverages and snacks on hand.

Luis took us inshore and used a variety of techniques—including trolling, bottom fishing, and casting—which kept things exciting throughout the trip. We caught a great variety of fish, and Luis expertly cleaned and bagged them for us to take home.

Their warm personalities, attention to detail, and deep knowledge of the local waters truly set them apart. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend fishing with Luis and Shirley on the El Gato III to anyone looking for a top-notch day on the water!

Tuvimos una experiencia absolutamente increíble pescando con Luis y su esposa, Shirley. ¡Fueron muy amables y trabajaron arduamente para llevarnos a diferentes lugares y pescar una gran variedad de especies! Fue emocionante atrapar un enorme pez gallo y hasta una gigantesca mantarraya—¡una experiencia inolvidable!

Shirley tiene una vista increíble—detectó una ballena, y pudimos acercarnos lo suficiente para verla de cerca. Tanto Luis como Shirley fueron muy pacientes y estuvieron dispuestos a enseñarnos, asegurándose de que aprendiéramos nuevas técnicas durante el viaje. El bote estaba impecable gracias a Shirley, y tenían mucha fruta fresca y una excelente selección de bebidas para mantenernos hidratados y cómodos.

We went out with Luis for a 3/4 day trip offshore. Had a great trip, had several small mahi hook up then come off. We kept working until finally hooking up with a sailfish. My daughter landed it and we had the pressure off. Maybe a hour later we hooked up again with a really large sail. After about a 20 min fight we landed it. My largest to date in Costa Rica or Mexico. We got right back to it and hooked up immediately again with another sailfish. After a short fight it was able to shake free. All in all they did a great job of putting us on the fish.

My wife and I are very experienced fishermen and know how fishing can go. We did catch a yellowfin tuna and a mahi mahi (both bucket list fish). Had quite a few hits that didn’t hook up but I’m not sure how you can fault the crew for that!! The boat, equipment, and crew were top notch. And Captain Luis, you are too tough on yourself regarding your English skills!! We communicated just fine! I’d book with you again in a heartbeat!!! Thanks to you and your wife for a fantastic day on the water. And thank you for the dolphin show!! Sweet bonus!!!
