We could not have imagined a better deep sea fishing experience! In 5 hours we caught 3 Mahi Mahi, a sail fish and a huge marlin! These guys knew exactly where to go and what to do. They made the entire trip amazing for our first time deep sea fishing. What a wonderful family experience and we cannot imagine not booking the Blue Tail for any future deep sea excursion in Cabo!! Thank you guys!!!!!!

This trip was really good. About 30-40 minute transit to fishing grounds. We got a big striped marlin right away and lost one.
It went quiet for a bit but then we got into a bunch of smaller tuna. Neat to see them jumping and so many dolphins.
Our crew then put out a fishing balloon. It attracted larger tuna. We got a few 30’s, 2 50 plus and one over a 100 pounds.
Really good day. Tired from reeling.
I like the larger boat with AC so you can cool off if needed.
Good times.

Book with Juan & Freddy, and catch some fish, other boats had caught nothing and we caught 2 sail fish and 2 marlin in a matter of a few hours. We were so wore out with all the action we were ready to dock early.
Remember it’s called fishing not catching. But with the right caption and crew you are more likely to catch some nice fish. We had a great time. Book the right crew, We had many choices but so glad we booked with Juan & Freddy.

I would not use FishingBooker. I wouldn’t use them because what is advertised is not always what you receive. The “Captains” featured on the listings are only the coordinators or brokers who schedule any random Captain that is available for the day so you have no idea what you will get. Reading the reviews for a particular outfit doesn’t help cause you may not get that Captain/ crew. And who you get determines if you have a hardworking crew who is motivated to get you on fish.
Instead of using FishingBooker.com go to the marina at noon and see what boats return with slot of fish then approach those boats and ask them directly with you the next day or later in the same week.

Fish on a new moon from September through October. Book in advance. Get double the live bait from the boats and be sure to find out exactly what species are biting what because when it's busy the baitboats will try to offload whatever is not in high demand. Get your license online the night before. Do not wait till the morning of. Leave earlier than you think you need because there's always some point of delay in the early morning. Getting out of the harbor before the other boats is your best bet for a lot of action in the busy season.

If you want to go fishing on your Cabo vacation, don't sweat the details. We didn't expect to catch a Blue Marlin, but when we did, the team of people around the dock assisted in every way they could. If I have one bit of advice, bring extra cash to tip the helping hands. This includes the person helping get the fish to the place where it will be cleaned and cut up in to fillets ($20). Fish cleaning will be dependent on the number of fish caught, but quite reasonable ($30). Of course tip the crew as suggested by Fishing Booker as well. Enjoy!

Review, review, review! Charters like to nickel and dime you. You pay for charter but that doesn't include food or water. Then when you get to the boat ramp they like to charge you to walk down the ramp to get on the boat. Once on the water they stop to pick up bait and ice which you are expected to pay. Reel Taquila experience was NOT like this but every other charter has hit us up with these hidden fees. We're hoping this company has larger boats to avoid breathing diesel fumes and getting ill.

Read all the reviews of the boats listed on the site. We thought that a larger boat might be better equipped to handle the swells (which it did) but upon return, some of the smaller vessels actually caught more fish and marlin which we were hoping for. We understand that marlin are in towards Dec. & Jan. Nevertheless, this is my second time going personally and cannot wait to go back next year! You will not be disappointed. The people are wonderful in Cabo

It's hard for me to call it for you accurately because there is a Category 5 Hurricane a few hundred miles off the coast (I obviously didn't plan on that 4 months ago when I booked this vacation) it's been pushing 10 and 12 ft waves in on the beach and once we got out to the fishing grounds fortunately they were a couple secs apart but 8 ft nonetheless. I'd like to try it again under different circumstances. I catch and land a Black Marlin and a few Chicken Mahi but were only last about 3 hrs on the water cause it was just too rough.

Keep our expectations realistic sometimes the fish do not cooperate. Give the captain 1 or 2 species to target and listen to him when he tells you what is biting and what is not. Make sure you hydrate the day before your trip. Sunblock is an essential item to bring,
You can purchase box lunches at Captain Tonys at 5:30 am. Is about a 5 min walk from the restaurant to the boat dock.
Captain will call someone to clean your fish for you at the end of the trip.

If you are fishing for the first time and have never been on a boat, bigger boats can be more stable for you but the panga was great for my cousin! Take some Dramamine if you get motion sickness before you get on the boat and enjoy the trip. We had fun catching giant trevally and bonito. Not everyone's cup of tea but it made us happy. In Hawaii we call trevally Ulua, and it's a treu game fish inshore.

My husband and I were not looking to go out for trophy fish, we just wanted to have fun fishing in Cabo San Lucas so booked a private trip with Cabo Mahi Mahi – Samantha. Our guide, Jose Cesena, and his assistant were enjoyable to be with and we caught Spanish mackerel of varying sizes, a Yellowtail tuna (the sea lion won that battle - he got the fish and I got only the head!) and we also caught several other large fish that were fun to catch but not good to eat so we tossed them back. I guess it depends on what you are looking to catch. We were not disappointed and had a delicious dinner of fresh fish.

This was our first trip to Cabo, the support was very helpful to get to marina and find boat and get fishing licenses. Captain and crew were great to talk with and made it a very enjoyable 2 days fishing.

Take your time and get reviews or meet your captains and crew before you book. Everyone around the marina is trying to sell you a trip and it’s hard to know what you might get through these brokers.
Michael Hays
Don't get caught up by all the shady people offering to help you 9 out of 10 people you cross paths with before getting to boat on the dock are shaking you down for money .. presenting them selves to be representatives of your trip.. k ow your captains name and name of the boat... head straight to it and do not stop...

Avoid!!!!!! Horrible experience! Captain was not even the Captain on the boat. Did not honor the reservation terms and contract. We got off the boat and did not go fishing. Totally disrespectful and untrustworthy.

This was my first time in Cabo too. I booked on the boat Blue Fin, they exceeded my expectations. Let these guy arrange your to and from your resort. If your are like me and bring your wife or girlfriend, ask them to give you a couple of hours of shopping time at the Marina area after the boat gets back. Other than that set back and relax because you will be treated well and this

Listen to your deck hand and Captain on how to land your fish. They know the ropes. Be prepared to take about an hour of constant strain to land a nice Marlin, and don’t quit. Consider releasing your catch alive. Instruct other guests to video and photograph the fight and catch. Opportunity of a lifetime and WELL worth the money. Enjoy

The Communication was excellent. The parking as advertised can be difficult.
We scouted out the night before, so we were able to find a spot quickly in the morning and walk down to the marina on time.

5 hours but we were worn out. 2 100lbs marlins. 5 Mahi. Scenery incredible. Hump back Wales. Smooth nice boat. They cleaned the fish n walked us to a restaurant that prepared the fish for us. Very reasonable. Worth every penny. Would be great for 12 n up boys that like to fish. Or girls too. X boxers . Lol
Mike Mason
Watch out for street vendors!. 4th day paid full day but got 1/2 day. Promised to take us to place opposite direction. Took us right back to area without fish instead of opposite direction as promised before payment. Same result no strikes.
John Pederson
Its Tournament season.so if you aren't doing a tournament, expect a lot of bSeems like it isnt the best time for Mahi, so if you arw going for a good eating fiah, maybe not the beat time. But i would say the fishing in Cabo is great year round.
James Holtzman
Don't expect to go out with the Captain you talked to on the phone or that you messaged with. In Cabo, the captain assigns an open boat for you to go out with. Captain was qualified and knowledgeable, just not the advertised Captain.
Christine Hillis
Book these guys!! We think depending on the age of the children x the behavior of the children it would definitely be appropriate but it is not a trip I personally would bring my toddler or baby on. If you have food allergies or are picky, bring a cooler with snacks and drinks that you like - we did ;-)
Ryan Elizondo
Make sure you bring your own lunch and some additional drinks if you’re going on an 8 hour charter. Ask for the crew to get more ice and bait if it’s supposed to be included. There c old be some missed opportunities. Also bring a positive mind set and patience if you want to catch one of the beautiful marlin. What an amazing species.
Anthony King
I would recommend that you learn enough Spanish to communicate well enough to understand what's going on. I speak very little Spanish and was dependent upon a translator during my trip- which proved costly.
Roderick Snell
Make sure you choose a full day so that you have time to get into deeper water and catch more fish. Also pick a captain that wants you to help out with the fishing tasks and not just do everything you. It’s way more fun.
Chris Nelson
I’d probably start in-shore first, then decide if you want to go way out for Marlin or something. I personally wouldn’t just head 5 miles out, especially if it’s super rough waters because you might not catch anything and it’s a rough trip to and from.
Kenneth Robinson
Hire a captain that speaks English well so you understand what the trip is, what you need to prepare for and any other details that are important to you. They didn’t communicate much during the trip to know what we caught or what we were doing.
Edward Davis
Fishing during this time of year is good. I cannot say the same for our trip. Boat was poor. equipment was poor. Captain did not speak English so Communication was poor. Great place to go fishing, but not with this outfit.
