What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur for the first time?

bring sunscreen, a good book and some patience... It is offshore fishing "Not Offshore Catching". You will get the bites, just enjoy everything around you for what it is. Blue water good friends and family. When the bite happens, be ready, listen to the crew and captain. HAVE FUN

Pack a light jacket and sunscreen. The temperature was low 60's in the morning and heated up to low 80's mid day. Make sure you have a way of transporting your catch back with you. One collapsible cooler will fit about 50lbs of fish (and is still fairly manageable to transport).

We fished in Cabo in mid May 2019. The first two days were slow but the third day was great. It sounds like the striped Marlin fishing was just starting to get good. The rooster fishing was also good this time of year. Overall a great value for fishing compared to prices for charters at other destinations

Come during a peak season for the fish you want. It is expensive because everyone gets their hand for money in your fishing trip (taxis, resorts, fishing company, fishing license, bait, filleting the fish, freezing the fish, etc....) Not to mention the pressure to catch and release. I love fish and wanted to keep it so we did.

Dress warm(waterproof jacket) in case of weather change and could get windy. No bathroom on boat. I asked the captain that I was not interested in Marlin and wanted to catch fish to eat. They can take you elsewhere to fish.

It was Fun, 4 hours might be too short 8 was a long day. Its fishing you might hook up or you might not ! Saw a whale, had Pelicans and a sea Lion jump on the back of the boat to get at the live well where the bait was stored. We let him eat it, cause he was pretty big and grumpy.

You get what you pay for....so if you want a sightseeing tour where you might catch fish go for pricepoint.....but if you want to catch fish with top notch fishermen and gear do a little research on who you're going with before booking......I wasted money trying to fish everyday on some pangas but I experienced broken gear poor equipment and disorganization

Spend the money and go with good guides. Remember it is fishing, and there are good days and bad days!

Read through the reviews and fully understand what you need to bring in terms of clothing, food, beverages, incidentals and money.

You dont have to go out all day, if your the avid fisherman you can, we where wore out after 5 hours. great fishing.

read the instructions carefully and follow diligently. theres a lot of oppurtunists around the Marina, and they gave clear directions of how to avoid them

go with this crew. they were so experianced and capable. We all caught fish and they helped throughout the whole day. couldnt be happier.

Beware of the surprises of having to pay more than you thought the trip was advertised for. Like the fishing lisence and having to buy your own live bait. Silly stuff, to take advantage of tourists

if you’re determined to go after a specific species, stick with it. sometimes the captain will try to talk you into something else that’s hotter but the fish you want are there.

Be very clear with the captain what fish species you want to catch. It sets a better expectation. Also discuss with the captain what is biting and where so you can adjust your expectations.

If you get seasick, take Dramamine 24 hour the day before, and the morning of, and make sure not to show up to your trip hungover!

Go in the morning. I went in the afternoon and the seas were rough. We didn’t catch anything until the end.

Book 2 trips per vacation. When fish have lock jaw one day it doesn’t last for long . I have confidence in capt Andy and would not hesitate to fish with him again

This trip was great because they took care of the licenses and bait And great communication for where to meet and what food and drinks on the boat.

DO IT! Be patient, remember your on a boat in Mexico and enjoy your time out on water. Listen to your Captain + Crew, bring a good attitude and enjoy.

poor equipment it was supposed to be a 5 hr trip it was only 4 hrs Captain asked for food And Beer no way to gaf the fish

OCTOBER! All the big tournaments happen then and everyone is out pre-fishing and livening up everything in the water. You won’t be disappointed.

I would ask whether the fish bite more in the am than the pm. our pm all inclusive was slow biting but we still caught Marlin and Mahi Mahi.

Hire these guys. This was my second time to Charter a boat with them. Both times were a great experience.

I would definitely recommend going in October and November when the water is warmer. you have a better chance of catching big marlin and sailfish.

Fishing was slow for us because we ONLY wanted Marlin and it was not the season for Marlin when we were there in April. We did, however, catch skipjack Tuna and Mako shark and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

The marlin will wear you down, be prepared to fight hard, and be sore the next day!

dont be worried if its pouring down rain. we had the best time still and caught so many fish!
