What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina for the first time?

If using fishing Booker, make sure you call ahead to avoid double booking problems... We would have liked to fish the morning and for 7 instead of 4 hrs

We booked the 6AM half day trip. My kids and I were really happy with the fish that we caught. So much fun!

July is tough fishing but we got put on fish! My niece went with us, her first time ever fishing, and had a great experience!

July was super busy and lots of people on the water.. when we come back next year it will be not on a holiday...other than that go with these guys!!! They're the best!

If fishing from land go to Hamilton Beach Park, and walk out to the jetty to fish. For bait use squid, shrimp, and mud minnows.

Bottom fishing is the best if you like to eat the fish if not go out in trolling trip for king fish or mahi great captain

Book a charter. They know where the fish are and how to catch them. Do your homework and make sure the captain is licensed and boat is safe.

Make sure you know where the charter is located. The marsh walk is not clearly labeled. Boats are behind the restaurants.

The weather plays a big part in any fishing trip. Crazy Girl Charters is a great trip for first timers. Fishing in the creeks etc. Is easy when the ocean is rough.

Great time. Mostly calm waters, except out at the reef. If you get sea sick, definitely take something for it. I'm sure what time of year changes what you are fishing for. Maybe even week to week. Just know that your captain will know what to fish for and where to take you!
