Trip Summary

We do not stop thanking him for all his mercies. Despite the difficulties, we continue to receive their blessings. After ten minutes of having thrown lines we had the first battle of the day. When the kitchen is full, but the heart wants more. In fishing, plan A is just the beginning. Today we started with the certainty of having the bait assured, but the sea forced us to recalculate. We knew that without the proper living bait, “the task” would not be completed. We had to move quickly, look for the resource and ensure the foundation of the day. In this profession, mobility is the key between success and a blank return. Our guests were clear: they wanted to bring the flavor of the Pacific to the table. We fulfill the mission more than enough, ensuring quality captures for a dinner of those that are only enjoyed after a day of salt and sun. However, the ocean always keeps an ace up its sleeve. Out of nowhere, a colossal shadow emerged: a trophy Roosterfish, one of those that you dream of hanging on the wall. It was a meeting of seconds where nature won our game; we could not react in time to present battle. He left as he arrived, like a ghost from the coast, leaving us with adrenaline to the maximum and a promise engraved in the water: we will return for you. Fishing Report: The Tactical Pivot • Technique: Live Bait Management & Coastal Trolling • Location: Nearshore, Costa Rica • The Vibe: Strategic, focused, and high-adrenaline. The Results: • Two big Spanish Mackerel Sea-to-Table Success: Mission accomplished for the kitchen. • The "Wall-Trophy" Encounter: A massive Roosterfish sighting that stole the show. • The Lesson: In fishing, the bait is the foundation, but the reflexes are the victory. #BaitManagement #RoosterfishTrophy #MathisLegends #SeaToTable #PuraVida #SportfishingReality #TheOneThatGotAway #CostaRicaFishing #AnglerApproved

BEATING THE HEAT: The Mystery of the Gia
BEATING THE HEAT: The Mystery of the Gia

When the sun is hot, but the "fish tales" are hotter. There are days when the Pacific feels like a blue desert. With the heat hitting hard and a pace of fishing that tested the patience of the entire fleet, the overall results were, to say the least, scarce. But in Mathis, the score always ends in our favor. ☀️ Although the Roosterfish decided to stay in the depth today, the action did not stop. We managed to do the task with a Needlefish and a Jack Crevalle that kept us moving. But the real star of the day was our good friend and client, who claims to have fought an epic battle with a Giant Curvine. The only detail? The camera was not fast enough to capture the evidence. As we know well in this craft: “The stain of the photo is removed, but the greatness of the fish in memory is forever.” We were left with the satisfaction of having earned the pulse of a difficult day and with a great story to tell at the dock. Fishing Report: The High-Temperature Hustle • Technique: Inshore Trolling / Bottom Fishing • Location: Coastal Costa Rica • The Vibe: Hot, challenging, and filled with "legendary" mysteries. The Final Tally: • 1 Jack Crevalle: Pure muscle to wake up the reels. • 1 Needlefish: Quick action in the heat. • 1 "Invisible" Giant Corvina: The catch that lives in our hearts (and the client's memory). ??️‍♂️ #FishingLegends #TheOneThatGotAway #MathisFishing #PuraVida #CostaRicaSportfishing #JackCrevalle #FishingHumor #BeatTheHeat #AnglerStories
