What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Gulf Shores, Alabama for the first time?

Go with off the hook charters. Both boats from the company came back with tons of fish, big fish. Other boats at the dock had small fish and less fish. If you want big ones and numbers go with off the hook charters.

Definitely get a charter if it’s your first time. You won’t be disappointed and you can learn quite a bit about the local waters and what rigs and techniques work the best at the time you are fishing

Try to come on a better moon phase. We came Labor Day weekend because it was my birthday. I knew the fish would be biting better late at night before I came, but we caught fish despite the time & tidenot being right.

Take plenty to drink, protection from the sun, and be open minded, because the captain knows what he is doing and trying his best to give you a great fishing experience. Remember when fishin,g it is a roll of the dice if the fish will bite or not.

Figure out what you want to target. Get the charter going after that species …… and let the Captains take over. Both my charters this week got right on the fish we were going after and got our limits.

We were hoping to bring back some fish to freeze. We caught all red snapper which you are not allowed to keep because it is out of season for it. We only caught one fish to keep. Not our guides fault by any means but it was a huge disappointment.

Do not eat a big meal before you go & dont be drinking the night before if you expect to be able to stay the whole time my husband & son eat a honey bun & I eat a half of a brownie & be sure to take dramamine the night before & the day of ur trip...

If your wife wants to take all the kids to the beach. Agree, under the condition that you get to charter a fishing trip. Gulf Shores is very family friendly and renting a condo with a family friend or sibling is a great way to go.

It was windy the start of the trip. if you plan a trip go early moring or later in the afternoon after 3

September is pretty warm, so would encourage them to book earlier in the day - we starting at 11:30.

Remember its called fishing not catching which is what makes it exciting! You never know what you’ve got on the other end of the line until you pull it in.

The earliest in the morning you can go the better especially in the summer because of the heat. Good luck and have fun! ?

Don't expect the world. There are seasons, and this one doesn't include all the crazy fish that are out there. Still a fun trip! We still caught fish and had a great time.

This was the first time going and it exceeded our expectations. Would encourage people to try it and enjoy.

If you want a fishing charter look up fish on charters, and if your just wanting to fish around talk to the locals they will help you find a good spot to fish

Book with a captain that knows his boat and electronics. He must know how to catch fish no matter the conditions.

Bring plenty of water,Gatorade,snacks,sunscreen,and don’t forget an ice chest and ice for your catch once you get back to the dock.

Reach out to the captain ahead of time and get their feedback on what you're looking to catch and if they are biting.

Make sure to message the captain and not just go off of the description online. It could differ slightly.

We were prepared for it to be hot weather. Our captain told us to bring drinks and snacks. We brought sunscreen, hats and UV clothing.

The winds can get up in the afternoons making for some rougher water so keep that in mind when booking your trip.

We have done multiple charters and fished on piers in the Gulf of America. Have never been skunked. The grandchildren love fishing of McMillian Pier in Fort Morgan.

This is our 4th year in a row deep sea fishing here and it’s always been a blast. I highly recommend doing it

Deep sea fishing may not be the best choice for children not accustomed to the motion of the sea. Inshore would be best.

A fishing style long sleeve shirt with a hoodie, sunglasses, hat, hand towel to wipe off fish slime, sunscreen and plenty of water, Gatorade and a few snacks. Dress appropriately.

Pick a great charter company. Stressed Out Charters is a great choice. Book Earlier in the week and be mindful of the weather.

If it's a charter let them know what you're after and they'll do their best to get you to the right area. But remember it's still fishing and you can't make fish do what you want.

Captain Perry was great with a couple of obvious greenhorn fishermen. Really talked through the process and what works best with the fish we were chasing.
