What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Gulf Shores, Alabama for the first time?

Storms in Mexico sent strong winds which cancelled us for a couple of days. We fished in Little Lagoon and although quite breezy (which resulted in a faster drift) we caught fish.

The only I not happy with is, and this's not Cap. Foul is can't keep the Reedsnaper The system sucks

If you have a health issues that causes you to need a bathroom close. Make sure you find a boat with a bathroom. Our boat didn't have any shade so make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen.

Definitely take a small charter. We did a large boat a few years ago and it wasn’t enjoyable at all.

Do some research if you’re an experienced angler - if you’re new - just show up and enjoy yourself! (My youngest is 2 - won’t let me edit that part.)

Red Snapper is a great family trip. There are other options this time of year but you can’t go wrong with snapper

Go with a knowledgeable Captain who knows where the fish are! Finding them (the fish) is half the battle.

For first time anglers in Gulf Shores I would recommend taking a trip with Collins Terry and Forever Bent Charters.

The 3 hour intro was a good fit for us. We booked with Stressed out Charters out of Fort Morgan Marina.

This is not a deep sea charter, so know that you are not going to catch a fish like what you see on TV such as a 60lb sword fish.

We fished in Pensacola FL. This had wrong address for marina. *This was NOT Fort Morgan or Gulf Shores*

Don’t use Freebird or Fishing Bookers. Have in depth talk with the captain before booking with charter.

If you fishing the morning, expect cooler weather and dress appropriately. The wind can be cold, even if you fish inshore.

Find a good Captain. They are not only great to fish with but can also help you with information on solo adventures from shore. Like what's bitting, what bait to use, etc....

Yes. We booked a 6 hours off shore trip, but due to weather conditions Capt. Jake pivoted to a 4 hour in shore, which was the right call.

Only issue is the weather. Very windy so it made the fishing very difficult. Nothing the captain could control. He was great.

Weather and water rough due to storm - maybe a March thing, not for anyone with motion sickness or if you don’t want to get sea spray.

We booked a morning trip, so it was a little chilly. It was very windy, but once the sun came out, the weather did not take away from the fishing experience.

Bring some warm clothes it's a little cold in March, if you plan on taking fish home bring a large cooler with you, bring some snacks and drinks you may be out on the water longer than you expect.

Just sit back and enjoy the experience. First time for us, loved it all! Catch was amazing, from start to finish.

Yes it was a very good charter for a family, and kids. Caught fish, and had a great time. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great time, and looking to catch fish.

Be patient and listen to your captain. Fishing here is not like lake fishing that our family is used to

I happened to come during a cold front lol but still enjoyed it and got to catch a fish. Lots of dolphins to see!

If you are coming in the winter months make sure you have warm cloths. We were not prepared for cool temps. It was in the fifties and on the water it was chilly!

Thought winter would make it slow. I thought wrong they was biting at back to back. 1 off the max limit we could take home definitely eating good!

Find a guide who’s experienced, patient, works well with inexperienced or experienced fisherman alike. I recommend Trick ‘Em Charters
