What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Orange Beach, Alabama for the first time?

Stay in Foley if you want to save money on hotels before Labor Day...rates were very high in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach

Try a four hour inland trip for starters, try the more offshore targeted trip after you see how the first one goes

Bring sunscreen, plenty of water and snacks. Definitely do the 6 hour though if you want lots of catch to bring home.

Very hot in July. We took a morning charter, and it was probably better than the afternoon would have been.

I thought I was booking a deep sea trip not a inshore trip but did enjoy catching the nice Cobia but sure wished I could have caught to limit of speckled trout or any keepible fish

Level of experience doesn't matter. In our case the Captain and deckhand were very helpful. We brought only beverages and snacks. They handled the rest.

The fishing was slow but some of that was weather related. I have fished the area before; Its a good time!

Yes. Captain was persistent about helping us catch fish by finding quality spots for a very crowded ocean.

We took a 6 hour trip with Action Charters. It's one of the party boats in the area, so that would be an economical start for beginners and fun for experienced fishermen.

Red snapper was hitting in every spot we went to. The tunas and mackerel seem to be every where also!

Bring motion sickness medication if you don't live on the ocean you will need it. Do your research and pick the trip you need then pick the next one that is longer because time goes so fast.

We are from the desert so the humidity was a bit much for us but tolerable for an early Morning trip.

Go with max drag and you will limit out if you listen to captain Curtis and follow instruction!! Unbelievable time ages from 10 to 51 and everyone caught their limit.

If driving into Orange Beach take a morning trip,if staying in Orange Beach take evening trip traffic is tough great fishing either way

It was hot in June, but that was expected. The water was perfect on our trip, but it can get stormy... it is summer after all. Great time!

Find a guide who has been doing this for a long time and has the local knowledge it takes to put fish in the boat. The cheapest isn't always the best value.

Don't forget your cooler. If you do they are very proud of them. Weather is great. Not hot yet but warm. May be a tad cool in the morning but warms up nicely.

Take Dramamine early before you leave for your trip, wear sunscreen, reapply often (sunscreen), and book an all day trip! So much fun!

Orange Beach provides a wide variety of species to search for, there are multiple opportunities to see dolphins, and plenty of good spots to hit while fishing here!

I recommend people fish as often as possible. This was a great experience, some of the biggest fish I have ever seen in my life. Saw a pod of dauphins as well. Great time had by all.

Do your homework and get with a knowledgeable service like Lost Bay and Captain Johnathan Willis!

Watch the seasons on fish, depends on what you are after. We had a great time though

We we first time deep sea fishers. Definitely recommend this crew and this boat.
