What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Orange Beach, Alabama for the first time?

Drink plenty of water, bring plenty of beer, practice your sensitivity with a pole, might plan to spend a full day out instead of a half day if possible.

Be prepared for sea sickness. Even the most seasoned anglers on our trip got sick. The water was so rough you couldn’t even stand to bait your hook.

Lots of boats available with difference sizes and lengths of trips. Good fish species availability.

White trout kept you moving tons of fish. Flounder and baby drum were fun to catch. Lady fish was a fighter!

Choose your boat and guide wisely as the weather can be unpredictable. Can be a lot of fun if you enjoy fishing.

Make sure you take the earlier trip . It wasn't to hot on our morning trip but bout 1030 it started warmer up.

Go out on the Emerald Breeze. It's a good deal. We took home 1 full bag of Wahoo steaks, 1 full bag of Snapper filetes. Easily $100 worth of fish. Not saying everyone will do that...lol

Go with Capt Rick and Stephanie they will take care of you. My 6yr old son caught 2 fish completely by himself. They are great people and will go out of their way to help even the newest angler

Make sure if you’re not sure about motion sickness to pack some Bonine or sea bands just in case!

The weather was great, although the water a little rough. If you get motion sick, pack the drammamine.

make a list of what you think you might need. sunscreen water a dry bag backpack cooler. that kind of thing. in case seas are rough maybe some nausea med for those without sealegs. what a good time.

Try a few different spots around, and if you get a bigger fish on light tackle, fight it carefully.

Ask about how much time you will be at the fishing spot. Over two hours spent driving for fish less than one pound and only 45 minutes catching those.

Book for a date early in your stay. The weather can be iffy so if you need to reschedule, best to have it booked early so you can move ti a different day if necessary.

Be aware of what species are in season. We were hopping to keep snapper but their season is not for a couple months.

Do the 6 hour trip, gives you the time you need to move around if the fish aren’t biting in the spot your at.

great experience, not too crowded, cool on the water but not cold and there are still fish to be caught.

Just have a good time, and enjoy the boat ride and fishing. Don't expect to haul in the catch of a lifetime, just enjoy the time with family, friends, and an awesome crew.

It's hard for me to say. We didn't have much luck. We missed a couple of fish but there weren't many opportunities. Sharks and dolphins made it difficult.

Be prepared for humidity and heat from the sun. Wear a hat and long sleeve sun shirt and plenty of sun screen. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting fishy!

We had such a great time! The weather was fantastic and the water was beautiful! We caught a bunch of fish and saw a lot of dolphins up close and personal. Very cool experience!

We were busy the entire trip. Lots of hits. We missed several opportunities because of the way King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel hit the bait. We did have a great haul and it was an exciting trip.

Yes, and I would recommend taking at least a 5 hour trip since it appears you need to be further off shore to catch the fish. I will come again and fish in January.

If you're fishing in December, bring lots of layers. You'll need all of them on the way out and back, and various layers throughout the day.
