This trip was awesome, Captain John was great, he put us on a 115-120 lb. tarpon in the first hour.  He was very knowledgeable about the area and marine life. Great experience, with a beautiful sunset to top off the day.

Great family fishing trip. Fish did not want to cooperate but still managed to catch enough for dinner! Captain done a great job!

Let me first say that my boys and I have hired dozens of charter captains all over the US.  What I will say is Captain John is the best.  We fished all week on our own for the typical inshore species and the boys wanted more excitement than light tackle fishing so we contacted Captain John and asked him if he could put us on some game fish.  Specifically AJs and tuna.  We caught a ton and lost some too.  Captain John has a great rig and great gear and everything was flawless from the communication right down to the filet service Captain John does like he’s a chef in a fine restaurant.  I fish a lot and understand that sometimes you don’t catch fish it just is what it is (obviously not this trip) but part of the journey of hiring a charter Captain is the knowledge and the personality of the Captain.  Captain John is first class.  He shares his experiences and he is a wealth of knowledge but more importantly, he’s just a good guy and a great guy to talk to.  He’s patient with the less experienced angler and always happy to assist and share the tips he’s learned over decades of fishing the Keys.  I look forward to booking with him the next time we visit.

Took the grandboys out for their first deep sea fishing experience and Capt John did not disappoint.  At first it was hard to find the fish but he kept looking until we got into them.  The boys had a blast and we ate delicious fish for dinner.  He did a great job teaching the boys how to catch them and bring them in.  Nice boat and great Capt.  Highly recommend!

Captain John is the real deal. His “let’s get you guys some fish” is no joke. We tried several different ways and when they were biting he was elbow to elbow with us slinging fish. For sure a fun and memorable day as a belated fathers day adventure for my husband. Captain John is no frills….but his main goal is to find fish! Will call captain John again the next time we are in town.
