What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Ocean City, Maryland for the first time?

If you have never experienced a charter fishing trip, take motion sickness pills before you head out!

Being flexible with your scheduled trip is helpful, especially when the weather doesn’t want to cooperate for the best experience.

From what I’ve seen in past pictures, and from what the captain said, we had an odd experience. The fishing is usually much better.

If you're heading out mainly to fish, I'd recommend checking water conditions or getting some local tips first.

Check the ratings not just the price. Make sure your captain knows the water and is flexible and willing to go find fish!

Go out early. We booked the earliest trip of the day, and by 9am, it was already starting to get uncomfortably warm.

Book with Captain Kane. If you want to really get out and catch different species go for a full day, if you just want to target 1 or 2 types a half day is good too!

Wear layers of clothing. It’s cool in the morning and hot when the sun comes out. Bring sunscreen and water and enjoy the fishing.

Try to plan ahead unlike me so you go out when conditions are better for whatever you were trying to catch. Or at least as best as they can be for that time of year.

Sunscreen, be mindful of heavy traffic and make sure you don’t get sea sick before you go out-take something.

Just relax, during your trip the crew will find the fish plenty of fish. They got many spots to check out and just enjoy being on the boat and enjoy the scenery cause they will find the fish.

This trip isn’t to fill the boat with meat this is for an adventure getting close to sharks. Bring water and snacks if you want them.

First time anglers in Ocean City need to rely on their Captain for what is active and be flexible. If you are looking for a specific species, you may not be as successful.

Fishing near shore was good, consistent with last 3 years. Offshore they were doing great but just a lil too long a trip for the family. Soon enough!

To make sure you bring the right gear for the weather, Rain gear or sun block are very important. I would also bring a lunch and snacks along with plenty to drink to stay hydrated,

Bring sun screen, layer clothes, have an open mind and be ready to have an experience. Good or bad that’s up to you.

Be open to targeting any species that comes up. The bite changes often and you need to be open to fishing everything.

Captain Josh was great! He made sure hooks always stayed baited, and that he took us to places where the fish were biting! He's just a stellar down to earth guy who will make your trip perfect!

Check the tides! High tide is always better. Ask your captain questions - fishing for every specified is different

Water was a little dirty from all the boat traffic. It was the opening day of the White Marlin Open. This made the fishing a little harder, but still a great time

Combined with a beach trip, I believe there is better fishing is in April and November, but great time eitherway

Started a bit slow, but with multiple lines in the water, we caught about 30 Spots. Made the wait for the big boys to bite well worth it and a lot of laughs.

We don’t get out on this local much but Will said it was busy on the water… kept us fishing the whole time

If first time , motion sickness medicine 4 hours ( min) prior to trip. Ensure everyone eats a bit also!

It is was a colder week than expected for July. Water temps got low all of a sudden on us. Still caught a big shark though.
