What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Ocean City, Maryland for the first time?

We fished in a canal, on the pier, on the Judith M (head boat) and with Sportsfishing East Coast. In all that had more fish than we could eat. A Great trip!!

Take trip for sea bass easy first time catch, good eating, lots of fun. Don't judge the trip by the size of the boat but the history of the captain.

We had a great day catching sea bass. Not an expert on fishing though, so do your own research before signing on.

The waters were rough due to a storm the previous day, so no one was catching anything. We really enjoyed our time out on the bay though!

You have the benefit of fishing the back bays, the inlet or the ocean all in close proximity to each other.

Keep an open mind. There are lots of species to be caught. Any day spent fishing is a day well spent.

Bay fishing wasn’t good cause of the water temp definitely don’t expect to catch many big fish in bay in July when the water is warm

If you're not used to being on a boat, bring dramamine, sun screen, and dress (in layers) for 10-15 degrees colder than the expected temperature and let the captain and mate do their job.

Pick this charter, the Captain is very knowledgeable about the fish your trying to catch and were to find them

Check with local fishing report before you book. Most people told us we were too early for big bite in shore, but too late for tuna etc.

If you want to catch fish, book a charter. I've done two and both captains were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly at a modest price.

Despite the best efforts of our captain we did not get many bites. We only landed 4 fish of which 1 was a keeper. A pleasant time on the water but not good fishing.

Wear something warm and waterproof for the trip in and the trip back.. you will get wet and the water is cold!!!

Get a good nights rest and keep your strength up, you will need it for pulling up fish constantly.

Wear sunscreen and don't be afraid to ask your captain any questions. They are great!

Try to find someone who is local to the area and really enjoys being on the water.

Not sure.. everyday is different just because I have bad day someone my be better.

Just do it! Find a good charter like Bottom Bouncer Fishing and just have fun. It’s worth it.

Drop your line to the bottom of the ocean floor and be patient the fish will bite!

At least the bay is a terrible place to fish. I assume the ocean would be better.

Obviously it's hot and sunny! Bring good sun protection and lots of liquids to drink!
